Sometimes we become inspired by things and through that inspiration, through that moment of driven passion, we find revelation. A hidden knowledge that wells up deep inside of ourselves both pure and untempered by any rational track of reasoning. A feeling at its core, almost unexplainable but completely real. Something I hardly have the words to explain to you but I can show you, and it is right here. Hidden in each controlled color choice, every outline, and symbol underlies my meaning. A story or creating out of the darkness and reflecting on the true meaning behind the plot I lay out before each of you.
Can you imagine, a single black figure in the darkness of the ocean of loneliness. Holding in her slender arms an orb that within a breath, she fills with her hopes and need for more. As the dark and herself, blossoms to color and the very darkness around her becomes the whales. Filling the ocean with life, filling an orb with light, filling a girl with laughter. Maybe you see a different story within my art, but I was inspired by creation and hope. A revelation in its making.
The piece itself is a wash of acrylic inks; a swirl of blues, whites, and blacks. I enjoy the unique way that various densities of ink types mix on the paper to create depth and texture to fully express the story in my art to its fullest potential.
