Ravens Light was made for a friend and it turned out so well that I decided that it should go in my online portfolio. Even though it is an acrylic ink piece of a skull and a raven I thought that it still had a lightness. Like the skull itself was a source of light and a comfort for the raven drenched in darkness. It inspired the idea that it was a creature comforted by what remained in the world, a sign of eternal loyalty to some man or woman that will never move again. The raven had found its touchstone out of the loss of a loved one. At least that was what I was thinking as I painted it. For those that like the darker aspect of the abstract and for those that like stories in a picture, I hope you enjoy.
