Now I originally started this piece because I have come to really like the idea of pairing watercolor with colored pencil. It is an odd pairing but I love the way they fit together to really make a piece come to life. I chose this medium because I wished to challenge myself as well… I actually have my first art show coming up and I felt that having a beautiful piece like this one would really make my booth. I find drawing different bone structures difficult and yet I find the variety of different people beautiful in different ways. Each skin type, every ethnicity has a beauty to it. I can’t help to want to expand as an artist until I have pieces that express all those little differences that make people beautifully unique. From young to old, from skin tone to eye color. From their hair to their noses. Gender and so on until my gallery is a message in itself. We are all beautiful, we all deserve to be admired and as an artist I can only hope to share that beauty.
So wish me luck on my new art booth in a small medieval festival, its a start and I couldn’t be more excited to participate..Which means, if I haven’t been posting as frequently I haven’t stopped working I have just been so busy I’ve been spinning from one project to the next.
