Manta’s Dance through the water and they move in the depths with a grace that is hard to describe. I think a lot of water creatures do and thinking about them got me inspired. SO I pulled out my acrylic inks and set to work with this spinning flashes of movement stuck in my mind. I think one of the hardest things to do in art is to really capture movement. To take the holder into a special place in their mind and have a world open up. One where they can see the colors spilling and changing, until the only thing left is this miraculous scene of mantas spiraling up from the darkest of blues into the shafted light of the distant surface. As if they were in the middle of these living walls of the dancing cone. I don’t think I am there yet but that is my goal as an artist, to make people see it. To make then feel it. To give someone a single moment of the extraordinary. In this world there are thousands of those moments around us every day, art is knowing the moments to capture within our hearts and keep for inspiration. If we chose to share it for a living then I think people should feel privileged to see inside our minds. For every artist out there known and unknown I hope you know we are privileged to see your work. I hope you all stay inspired, Arie M.
