Fall Fox is one of my older pieces by a few years and one of my few acrylic paintings. I was mostly inspired by the colors of falling leaves in fall when I painted this piece. When that time of year comes around there are only a few things that compare to the feeling of watching leaves of various warm colors falling to coat the ground. A sharp contrast to the cold breeze but a welcome experience. When I looked at those scattered leaves I couldn’t help but think of one of the animals that has a fur just as warm and lively. The fox filled my mind as I watched the leaves move and dance in the light wind and I could almost see it. A fox leaping from the piles, a creature both playful and energetic. As I watched my imaginary fox it would form a solid shape that burst into leaves at the slightest change. Reforming as it raced and played making me laugh and feel inspired all at once. I can’t say that this creature is as flowing or alive as the one I saw that day but I do hope it inspires others to see it too. I may look crazy laughing at the wind in the leaves but everyone else only sees half the picture, and I paint the pieces they miss.
