When you go through meditation sometimes it helps to visualize expelling dark thoughts and energy with each breath. Allowing each intake to fill you with light and center yourself mentally. After I meditated one evening I was sitting there feeling relief and light and I wondered what it would look like to paint this motion. This exhaling of darkness, of thought. To express how I see it happening, and if nothing else it inspired me to paint and I incorporated my new meditation beads to send my personal intention. My own expression lies in the detail and yet the enjoyment of interpretation is still left up to the beholders. So behold, enjoy, and I hope you like it. From an artistic aspect I like the use of line and form to show the contrast between the solid form of the woman’s features and the soft edges of watercolor. If I could improve anything about this piece I imagine it would be the boldness of colors and solid form that can be achieved with more practice. I have every intention of improving and I hope that this piece shows that where I have advanced from the past I still have room to grow. I look forward to the future with the wisdom of the past and am hopeful.
