There are times when you plan out every detail of a painting and redo it over and over inside your own head… this is not one of those paintings. This piece was a spur of the moment inspiration that consisted of me pulling out my paints and looking for the nearest piece of unpenciled paper. Not everything is planned, and sometimes out of those wild moments a gem appears. I made this piece thinking of shamans and the spirits of an animal. How it would look through their eyes… you know how some people just look like animals? How you can just picture them furry, scaled, or covered in feathers. Well maybe shamans see that too, only a little clearer. Like the inner creature within each individual, like an Inner Shaman.
